Croeso i Dosbarth Willow 🌿

Welcome to Dosbarth Willow, our fantastic Year 5 and Year 6 class, where children are encouraged to become confident, independent and resilient learners as they prepare for the next stage of their educational journey.

Our class is taught by Mrs Wratten from Monday to Wednesday and Miss Paul on Thursdays and Fridays. We are also supported by Mrs Davies and Mrs Blundell, who provide additional support throughout the week.

In Willow Class, we aim to create a positive and encouraging environment where children feel confident to share their ideas, challenge themselves and take increasing responsibility for their learning. We provide engaging experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity and a love of learning.

🏃 P.E.

Our P.E. session takes place every Friday. Children have the opportunity to develop their physical skills, teamwork, coordination and confidence through a range of enjoyable and challenging activities.

Children should come to school dressed in their P.E. kit on their P.E. day. Please ensure that your child wears an appropriate P.E. kit and suitable footwear.

🌿 Outdoor Learning

Our Outdoor Learning sessions take place on alternate Wednesdays, giving children regular opportunities to learn and explore beyond the classroom.

These sessions encourage children to work collaboratively, solve problems and develop practical skills through hands-on experiences in the outdoors.

🏡 Homework

We encourage our Willow children to continue their learning at home and develop positive habits that support their growing independence.

Homework opportunities include:

• ✏️ Spellings – children practise spellings linked to their individual spelling groups

• 💻 Google Classroom and Purple Mash – additional tasks and activities will be set as and when appropriate to support, reinforce and extend learning in class
